Join our taster lesson
Classical Greek is not just a language; it is the foundation of modern literature, mathematics, science, and philosophical thought.
Hosted by Highgrove Education in partnership with Classics for All, this 45-minute interactive taster lesson provides a friendly, zero-pressure introduction to the ancient world through Ancient Greek. You will learn the Greek alphabet, decode your first words, and experience how engaging online classical learning can be. No prior knowledge of Greek or ancient languages is required to join this Taster Lesson.
Our expert teacher, Ben Cole, will be leading this Taster Lesson. Mr. Cole has taught Latin, Classical Greek, Classical Civilisation, and Ancient History for over twenty years at several prestigious schools. He was Head of Classics at Hurstpierpoint College and Magdalen College School, Oxford, for twelve years in total. He oversaw Oxbridge preparation for all candidates for seven years at Hurst and has supported a significant number of Oxbridge Classics candidates.
Mr Cole graduated from Oxford University with a 2:1 in Literae Humaniores (Classics) in 2004 and went on to complete his PGCE at Buckingham University. His pupils have achieved excellent results under his care, including one year when all 47 GCSE pupils studying Latin and Greek achieved A*s.
In Partnership with Classics for All
For generations, a classical education was considered a privilege for the few. Highgrove Education is proud to partner with Classics for All to widen access and bring the ancient world to everyone.
About the Full Ancient Greek Beginners Course
Following the taster lesson, pupils are invited to enrol in Highgrove Education’s Online Beginners Classical Greek course.
