Highgrove Education – Highgrove Online School

Learn your way, at your pace

Our independent learning GCSE and A level self-study courses are designed for pupils who wish to study at a time and pace that suits them. They are ideal for homeschool pupils who need additional, high-quality, teaching and learning support. There is no age limit to studying these courses.

Flexible courses designed for successful learning

Our independent learning courses can be started at any time of the year and completed at a pace and time that suits the pupil’s needs. Each pupil is assigned one of our expert teachers who will support them throughout their course.

Pupils work through our engaging and interactive self-study lessons at a pace that suits them, getting instant feedback on their performance and progress. They also submit regular teacher-marked homework (approximately one piece per week, although this depends on the pace that the pupil is working at) to ensure they have ample practice and feedback on their performance from their teacher. And if the pupil would like to take invigilated mock exams, we offer opportunities to do so after Christmas and Easter.

Teachers are available for support via Teams and hold a weekly ‘office hour’ session where pupils can drop-in to ask questions about what they have been learning.

All the learning materials that you need, written by experts

Our comprehensive self-study materials have been written by teachers with years of experience teaching their subjects and cover the entirety of the knowledge required for the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE or A level syllabus for each subject.

Comprehensive support
to help you achieve your ambitions

Each pupil is assigned a dedicated Learning Coach upon enrolment.
The Learning Coach helps the pupil plan their schedule of learning and then meets with them at regular intervals to check on progress and ensure that the pupil is on track to meet their learning targets.

Support finding an examination centre

All Pearson Edexcel GCSE and A level examinations must be taken at a recognised Pearson Edexcel International examination centre. Our team supports you in finding a suitable examination centre.

Please note that the International qualifications for the sciences do not have a practical exam paper.
There is no laboratory component to be examined, the assessment is entirely theory and knowledge-based.

An opportunity to make friends around the world

We take great pride in guiding our pupils to achieve their academic aspirations, but we recognise that many pupils, particularly those being homeschooled, also want warm, social interaction. If you are taking one of our independent learning courses, you might also like to consider joining our extra-curricular Enrichment Programme. It provides a wealth of opportunities for pupils to go above and beyond their academic studies, and develops 21st century skills while forming lasting global friendships.

Our enrichment programmes includes all the community and extra-curricular aspects of the school: a choice of clubs and societies, elective courses, weekly individual coaching, attendance of our skills and mindset course, PSHE (personal, social, health and economics) lessons, assemblies and house meetings.

The Enrichment Programme is available, for an additional fee, for any pupil aged 13-19 years old.
