Meet Ups and Trips

Highgrove is an online school with pupils located all around the world, but we love to meet up with each other ‘in real life’ and we recognise the value of deepening our connections with one another through meet ups, trips and excursions with your peers in person. It’s always such a pleasure to meet in person after getting to know one another online, and we arrange plenty of opportunities for in-person events throughout the school year. From our annual Speech Day to school trips across the UK and holidays abroad, there are many opportunities to meet your peers and connect. We also make sure that our pupils who live locally to each other are introduced, particularly when a pupil is relocating from one country to another, and support the formation of Study Hubs and study groups.

Science Museum, April 2026

We’re looking forward to visiting the Science Museum in London. The Science Museum was founded in 1857 as part of the South Kensington Museum. It later became an independent institution in 1909 and is home to a world-class collection that forms an enduring record of scientific, technological, and medical advancements from around the world.

Speech Day, June 2026

After the success of last year’s Speech Day at Oxford University, we’ll be revisiting Oxford Union for the highlight of our social calendar. Speeches to the ready… Oxford here we come!

Past Events and Trips

Winter Wonderland, December 2024

We had so much fun venturing to London’s Winter Wonderland last December. Winter Wonderland is held in Hyde Park and is one of the UK’s biggest Christmas fairs. It was the perfect day for meeting with friends and family to ring in the holiday season.

Vogue: Inventing the Runway Immersive Experience, May 2025

London is home to an endless array of museums, galleries, and educational exhibitions, so we took the opportunity to visit “Vogue: Inventing the Runway,” an immersive exhibition held at London’s Kings Cross and narrated by Cate Blanchett.

Speech Day, June 2025

Highgrove’s 2025 Speech Day took place in the historic Oxford Union at Oxford University, marking a milestone celebration of our pupils’ achievements. The event brought together current and past pupils, teachers, parents, and guests for an inspiring day of reflection and camaraderie. Attendees enjoyed heartfelt speeches from students sharing their journeys at Highgrove, highlighting how their studies and experiences prepared them for success at universities such as the University of Edinburgh and Imperial College London.

London Zoo, November 2025

We enjoyed visiting the London Zoo, located in Regent’s Park. This home to more than 8,000 animals served as the perfect day out for our pupils and teachers to mix and mingle in person.

London Eye, December 2025

To celebrate both the festive season and the end of term, we visited the London Eye, the world’s tallest cantilevered observation wheel. Originally known as the Millennium Wheel to mark the new millennium, the London Eye is now the most visited tourist attraction in the UK and one of the most iconic landmarks in the world.

British Museum, February 2026

We visited one of the oldest museums in the world (and the world’s first national public museum) and enjoyed immersing ourselves in two million years of human history at the British Museum.
