John Guntrip

John Guntrip has taught science in the independent sector over many years. His particular interest and specialism is Biology, with a degree from the University of Bristol university and a PHD in genetics and evolution from the University of Reading. He holds a PGCE in Science from the University of Roehampton and a PGCertEdS in Learning and Teaching in Education.

Dr Guntrip has led learning and teaching in schools for over a decade, and has previously worked as a Director of Studies, Deputy Head, school inspector and examiner. He really enjoys developing in students a genuine interest and passion for Biology, and enhancing their confidence, grades and enjoyment of the subject. Results and value added scores of his pupils are always very positive.

Dr Guntrip is married with two children and has a very excitable spaniel called Ophelia. He loves sport, travel, natural history and music.
