Richard Mace has taught History and English in both the independent and maintained sectors for over thirty years, and has also tutored online for ten years. He has variously served as Head of English, Head of History and Director of Humanities teaching History, English Literature, English Language and the EPQ. He is an examiner for AQA GCSE English Literature and a Senior Examiner for WJEC GCSE History. Previously, he has examined for AQA and Edexcel A Level History.
Mr Mace has a BA in History and Archaeology from Exeter University, a PGCE in History from Exeter University and an Main Leadership and Management in Education from Brighton University. The progress and value added achieved by his students has been consistently amongst the strongest within the schools where he worked. He describes helping students to maximise their potential and open doors to exciting futures as a very great privilege. His key focus is to imbue a love of the subject whilst enabling students to access the curriculum and extend their skills.
