Emma Kemp-Gee has taught Biology in boarding and grammar schools in the UK since 2010, and has previously held roles as Head of Biology and Head of Years 12 and 13. More recently, since December 2023, she has stepped out of the classroom to focus on teaching online and individual tuition. Alongside her teaching work, Ms Kemp-Gee has extensive experience as an examiner for Biology GCSE for a leading UK exam board. She has enjoyed a variety of responsibilities including preparing students for Biology Olympiads and supporting pupils with UCAS applications for biology-related courses such as Medicine and Dentistry.
Ms Kemp-Gee holds a BSc in Biomedical Science from Kings College London, a PGCSE in Science from Kingston university and a first class Masters degree in Educational Neuroscience from University College London. She was invited to host a seminar at the UCL Centre for Educational Neuroscience to talk about her research into adolescent brain development. In addition to tutoring Ms Kemp-Gee is semester lecturer at a London university teaching undergraduate Anatomy and Physiology and foundation year Mathematics for Science. This has provided a unique insight into the skills that students need to successfully transition to the first year of Biological Sciences degrees.
