Dr David Smith is a highly experienced historian who holds four degrees including a Master of Philosophy in Politics, Philosophy & Economics from the University of Cambridge and a PhD Doctorate on British wartime politics 1940-1945 from the University of London. He has taught History for 30 years in leading UK independent schools, and enjoys working with students on a wide variety of historical courses.
Alongside his teaching, David has led many historical expeditions to America, France, Belgium, Germany and Russia, helping students to understand the setting of key historical events. With a strong interest in politics and international relations, David is able to provide students with a deep understanding of the historical context and importance of their studies in understanding the world today.
Over a 30 year career in education, David has taught History at all levels, been a Head of Department, Housemaster, Registrar, Head of International Recruitment and Deputy Headmaster in leading UK independent schools.
